Days 1.5 - 2.5 of Munich
After Dachau we headed to Munich City Center. I will be honest, the side of town we stayed in, left much to be desired. The rest of the peeps were at the Courtyard while I stayed down the street at the Conrad hotel Ville de Munchen. Honestly, it was a fantastic hotel with great breakfast and friendly people.
After arriving, we hit the ground running toward our first Biergarten. Luckily, some friends I met in Ireland once, who live in Germany also met us out. It was a great night. Beer, the Market for some Schnapps, more beer, dinners full of meat etc. We stayed up until 11:30pm which when you fly overnight is the ideal. Great night and then bed.
Day 2 we woke early and left Munich for Neuschwanstein Castle. I have come to love visiting Castles over the last few years visiting Europe and this one did not disappoint. We had to take a carriage up the hill due to my leg, but I think it was quite enjoyable and everyone still got plenty of steps for the day.
After the Castle, we decided to stop on the way home at a brewery. It had great beer and snack but little did we know at the time, the best Honey Schnapps ever. We got home, freshened up and of course hit the town for beers and food.
What's crazy is probably the best part of the trip, since this was Alex's bday. We gathered in the hotel lobby courtyard with some of the beers we bought and all the Schnapps and played a little game of Schnapps Roulette. It just proves that the best times are with the best people, regardless of the place.
Oh, I guess I failed to mention, that the bees in Munich are EVERYWHERE. You can't even sit outside before you are covered. I got stung for the first time in probably 30 years, miserable.
